NOVEMBER 13 | 15:00

Reception and exhibition: Iron People

Join us for the opening of Iron People – Life and War Along the Railways in Ukraine, an exhibition by Dutch photographer Jelle Krings documenting the people who have kept Ukraine’s railways running throughout Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Since the beginning of the invasion, Ukraine’s railway system has played a vital role in keeping the country connected. Railway workers have helped evacuate millions of civilians, transported essential supplies and maintained connections between communities across Ukraine — often while working under extraordinary and dangerous conditions.

Through powerful photography and personal stories, Iron People brings us closer to the people behind the railway and offers an intimate perspective on resilience, everyday life and the human realities of war.

During the opening, Jelle Krings will present the project and share the stories behind his work. The presentation will be followed by a reception with wine and light refreshments.
