OCTOBER 17 | 14:00

From Still Joy to Naïv: A joint guided tour

Join us for a special afternoon exploring two distinct perspectives on Ukrainian art – across two exhibitions and two cultural spaces in Copenhagen.

We begin at Gammel Strand with "Still Joy," an exhibition bringing together Ukrainian and international contemporary artists around questions of joy, friendship, community and hope in times of war. Taking its starting point in testimonies from soldiers in Ukraine, the exhibition asks what joy means and how it can persist even under the most difficult circumstances.

From Gammel Strand, we continue to Ukraine House in Denmark for "NAÏV - Visions of Ukraine". Featuring more than 100 works by 20 Ukrainian artists across generations and regions, the exhibition explores an artistic tradition deeply connected to everyday life, folk culture, memory and personal experience.

Throughout the afternoon, Kateryna Stukalova, curator at Ukraine House in Denmark, will guide us through the exhibitions, sharing the stories and ideas behind the works and opening a conversation about the different expressions of Ukrainian art.

Together, the two exhibitions offer an opportunity to encounter Ukrainian art across generations – from naïve and folk-rooted artistic traditions to contemporary responses to life in Ukraine today.
