Copenhagen Photo Festival

The Copenhagen Photo Festival is one of the largest annual photography events in Northern Europe. Held each summer, it transforms Denmark's capital into a vibrant showcase of contemporary photography, featuring exhibitions, artist talks, workshops, and other photography-related events across the city. The festival brings together established and emerging photographers from Denmark and around the world, offering a platform for artistic expression and cultural exchange through the medium of photography.
Ukraine House in Denmark proudly participated in this prestigious event, presenting the inaugural exhibition of the Mykolaiv School of conceptual and art photography (MYPH) in Denmark – "Shared Body: Mykolaiv Young Photography". This exhibition marked a significant moment in cultural exchange between Ukraine and Denmark, bringing the dynamic and compelling work of contemporary Ukrainian photographers to a Danish audience.
The works presented at the exhibition conveyed a tangible, physical experience of what it means to be Ukrainian in 2024, entering the third year of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and after 10 years of ongoing war. This powerful presentation offered visitors a unique insight into the resilience and creativity of Ukrainian artists in the face of adversity.
By participating in the Copenhagen Photo Festival, Ukraine House in Denmark continued its mission of promoting Ukrainian culture and fostering international understanding. The exhibition served as a platform for Ukrainian voices to be heard and seen on an international stage, contributing to the broader discourse on the role of art in times of conflict and the power of photography to convey complex human experiences.
