AUGUST 30 | 18:00

Screening of Ukrainian horror short films

Dive into the scares and dark humor of Ukrainian horror films from 1960-1990 with us.

We invite you to a night of Ukrainian horror shorts, made between the 1960s and the 1990s. Filled with dark humor and frightening imagery, these animated films captured the anxiety and energy of Ukrainian society at the dawn of the independence era. The screening will feature notable examples of Ukrainian animation for adults, and during the artist’s talk with Danyil Pinko, animated film director, author of articles, and curator of screenings exploring the horror genre in Ukrainian animation from the 1960s to the 1990s, we will discuss how the political context influenced the development of the horror genre in Ukraine.
