Building Resilience to Foreign Information Manipulation

How can democracies protect themselves against disinformation, foreign interference and information manipulation?

Join us at Ukraine House in Denmark for an open event with WatchDog.MD, a Chișinău-based think tank working to strengthen democratic resilience and counter foreign information manipulation and interference.

Drawing on experiences from Moldova and the Eastern Partnership, the event will explore how foreign information manipulation operates, how it can influence public opinion and democratic processes, and what can be done to identify and counter it.

WatchDog.MD has worked extensively with media and social media monitoring, public opinion research, elections and media policy, public awareness campaigns and advocacy. During the event, the organisation will present its work and share practical insights and lessons from the region.

We will be joined by Valeriu Pașa, co-founder and Chairman of WatchDog.MD, Ecaterina Casinge, Board Member and former Head of Cabinet to Moldovan President Maia Sandu and Lisbeth Pilegaard, who will moderate the conversation.

This discussion will offer a rare opportunity to better understand the challenges posed by information manipulation, and how governments, civil society, media and citizens can contribute to building more resilient democratic societies.
