Are you our new Financial Manager?

Ukraine House in Denmark is looking for a skilled and proactive Financial Manager to handle the financial aspect of running a growing organisation working to build stronger ties between Ukraine and Denmark. This is a part-time position with flexible working conditions.


Become a part of our small, but ambitious team dedicated to building bridges between Ukraine and Denmark, and help us lift the administration by ensuring timely, precise and compliant financial management.


About us

Ukraine House in Denmark is a non-profit Ukrainian cultural institution dedicated to strengthening Ukrainian-Danish and -Nordic cooperation through culture, dialogue, and civil society. We develop public discussions, exhibitions, conferences, film screenings, educational programmes, concerts, book presentations, culinary events, and community initiatives that position Ukrainian culture as an essential part of Europe's cultural landscape.


Position Summary

As our Financial Manager, you will be responsible for the whole financial process, from handling payments and salaries to the monthly reports and yearly audits.

This is a broad role, as we are a small organisation, and we are looking for a colleague who also proactively can help us develop our internal processes and systems and constantly ensure compliance across all procedures. It is important that you understand the NGO/startup environment and how it is to work with a mission-driven team.

You deliver professionally, on time, and according to Ukraine House’s values of excellence and accountability. You will be involved in daily tasks, strategic planning, and organisational development, and you find inspiration in all.

The Financial Manager works closely with the rest of the team, including the management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Processing payments

  • Accounting in Economics

  • Monthly and quarterly financial reports

  • Reporting to donors

  • Checking and approving budgets for major projects

  • Payroll

  • Audit process (with external auditor)

  • Financial forecasts

  • Support of the management

  • Support of budgeting for grant applications

  • Ad hoc tasks


You have:

  • A relevant degree in accounting, economy, financial management or similar

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role

  • Proven financial management experience

  • Experience working with E-conomic

  • Full compliance in working with Danish laws and requirements

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Ukrainian. Danish is an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proactive and independent worker
