The Impact of Technology on Wartime Photography

We invite you to a talk by Kateryna Radchenko, a curator, photography researcher, and a key figure in shaping contemporary Ukrainian photography about how technology changes the way war is seen.

She is the curator of the Ukrainian House of Photography in Kyiv and the founder of the International Festival Odesa Photo Days, and her work spans exhibitions and research projects across Europe and beyond. Kateryna has collaborated with institutions such as Magnum Photos and the Magnum Foundation, served as a jury member of the World Press Photo Contest, and regularly contributes to international publications on photography and visual culture.

In her lecture, she will explore how the Russian full-scale invasion has made Ukraine one of the most documented wars in history. The talk will examine the evolution of Ukrainian photography since the beginning of the full-scale invasion and analyze how cutting-edge technologies are shaping a new visual language.

Their work reflects both the cultural flourishing of the 1920s and 1930s and the tragic repressions of the Soviet era that followed.

III Decolonizing Mindsets for Security in Europe Forum
ogether with the Danish Foreign Policy Society and the Free Nations of Postrussia Forum, Ukraine House in Denmark invites you to our third annual forum “Decolonizing Mindsets for Security in Europe”. This year's edition will explore Russia’s imperial structure and its implications for European security. As Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine continues, the forum challenges the idea of Russia as an “unbreakable empire,” instead examining it as a post-imperial space shaped by internal colonialism and the denial of self-determination for captive nations.
