Ukraine House in Denmark presents Film Fridays

Ukraine House in Denmark is launching a new series of events, Film Fridays, with the aim of showcasing and popularising masterpieces of Ukrainian cinema.

Our opening Film Friday will take place on Friday, Sept. 15, with screening of a documentary about Ukrainian poet and dissident Vasyl Stus.

An active member of the Ukrainian dissident movement, Stus based much of his work on notions of personal freedom, readiness to fight for a better fate for his people, and Ukraine. Due to his political convictions, his works were banned by the Soviet regime and the poet spent 13 years in a forced labor camp in the Russian Far East, where he eventually died. Today, he is remembered as one of the most influential figures of the Ukrainian literary movement of his time.

🗓️ Join us for a viewing of the film on 15/09/2023 at Gammel Dok, Strandgade 27B, Copenhagen.
